Living in the Light

The Wesley Foundation is a place that accepts all that submit to the authority of God with the recollection that we’re all human. We are all broken. We are all unworthy. Yet God chooses us and offers us Heaven. I’ve seen through many days of living in this community what true redemption and repentance looks and feels like. This community is a place that will help turn you around and point you back in the direction and path you were meant to walk in the first place.

I have been moved by the amount of love I have received in the past few months. Although, I must admit that I am having a hard time believing that I am deserving of this kind of love.  I have also recognized that for a moment I started to believe the lies the devil tried to speak over me, lies that he tries to speak over all of us:

Lie Number 1: We don’t deserve community.

Lie Number 2: When you’re unclean there’s no purification that comes afterward.

This community continues to remind me of what God says is true and He says “I freely give you these gifts so that you will experience true life and freedom no matter how undeserving you may be.”

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin. - 1 John 1:7

I can attest that this is the truth. The Wesley Foundation community is a place where I have experienced true freedom from living in darkness and hidden sin. People have consistently spoken words like the verse above to me.  And through the love and truth of the Wesley Foundation community I am continuing to learn that true freedom comes from living in the light and allowing the burden of past mistakes to simply just fall away.
