ABOUT THE MEXICO MISSION
The Wesley community has come to cherish and anticipate the Mexico mission trip. This mission started in 2018 as a direct response to the unjust treatment that our Hispanic brothers and sisters suffer in our country. In the two summers that we have spent in Mexico, we have traveled to various parts of the country (Monterrey, Saltillo, Cuernavaca, Rio Bravo, and Chihuahua), and served alongside churches there by going on prayer walks, doing vacation Bible school with local children, bringing food/clothes to members in poorer communities, and simply breaking bread with the people we meet. Everyone who has had the opportunity to be apart of the Wesley's Mexico mission team has known their life to be changed palpably by the selfless hospitality and spiritual poverty of the people of Mexico - from those we worshipped with in congregations to random people we met on the bus and street. Our goal has been to humbly serve and learn from our neighbors, but we have encountered something even greater: the formation of several deep and abiding friendships, rooted in a mutual sharing of Christ's love.
