Day and Night: Melissa Jackson

This poem came to me as a song, so I wrote it. I just sat and thought about my life and how so much has changed, but he stayed the same.

I like to think of my life like the moon.

Constantly changing from anger, hurt, and confusion.

Wondering when I’ll find the conclusion,

Through the confusing broken mind emotions.

I remember back when I was a kid

I heard of a hero of salvation.

He had a plan written from his father,

And he carried it out like a soldier.

I still remember his name,

It’s a name with power, peace, and patience.

He never changes like the moon,

He always stays the same like the sun.

His light in my life is bright,

And my demons run from the light.

His love for me has never changed, it’s endless.

He’s a savior named Jesus,

And he helped me find my conclusion.

He never changes, day and night.
